The Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare is proud to announce the launch of the Dr. Beth Lown Innovation Fund. This fund will support expansion of our signature Schwartz Rounds® program via new adaptations for existing acute care hospitals, as well as new uses across the broader healthcare continuum. Funding will also accelerate the development and evaluation of new programs and tools to meet evolving patient and care team needs, all with the goal of elevating compassion in healthcare settings across the United States and around the world.
Funds raised through the Dr. Beth Lown Innovation Fund will give the Schwartz Center the agility to respond to current and emerging needs with bold ideas and innovative approaches, with the potential to transform the healthcare landscape.
Investments will focus on the development, piloting, rollout and assessment of novel initiatives in each of the six domains of our Model for Compassionate Healthcare, a framework for advancing compassionate care within healthcare organizations across the globe. This framework is based on Dr. Lown’s research and thought leadership with experts in patient experience, caregiver well-being, and compassion over the last two decades and serves as the foundation for the Schwartz Center’s philosophy, strategy and future programming. The Fund will be primarily focused on the following three areas:
